Dextrograde direction, horizontal alignment, vertical module, irregular ductus, triangular interpunction, centered layout.

D wide, with square module;

M composed of four oblique strokes;

N with vertical lateral strokes.

Turranius Honoṛatus Aur(eliae) Iovinae, dulcissimae conpari (!) quae vixit mecum annos X, menses II. Si quis ean (!) <arcam> voluerit aper⸢i⸣re dabit fisco argenti pondo quinque quinque

APPARATUS CRITICUS

TRANSLATION

Turranius Honoratus, to Aurelia Iovina, sweetest companion, who lived with me 10 years and 2 months.

If anyone wishes to open this sarcophagus, he shall pay to the treasury five (roman) pounds of silver.

COMMENTARY

The gens Turrania is abundantly documented in Concordia, including in this very necropolis (CIL V 8692).
